Because of the extremely low friction your results will be
up to 25% better compared to similar systems based on
trolleys.
The ideal equipment for experiments with uniform motion,
constant acceleration, Newton’s second law, conservation
laws, elastic and inelastic collisions.
The air track is made from a large square aluminium
extrusion in conjunction with a supporting “U” channel. A
series of seven screws allow adjustment of the air track to
a typical linearity of ± 0.03 mm. The air track rests on three
rubber feet, two of which can be height adjusted.
Each side of the track has a scale graduated in mm. The
overall length of 2 meters provides a working length of 1.9
meters.
Two carts and a standard set of accessories are included.
The set includes a selection of carefully balanced plug-in
parts (a hook for string attachment, bumpers for elastic
and inelastic collisions) all weighing 10 g. These are all
provided with a 4 mm plug that fits into holes at the end
of the carts as well as at the end stops of the track.
Two flags of different lengths are provided for timing with
the 1975.50 photocell units (photocells are not included).
A set of weights are included in order to increase the mass
of one of the carts by 50 or 100 %.
Standard version. The complete air track consists of the
following parts: Air track 2 m, standard accessories in a
plastic box, and two carts.
