YOUNG’S DOUBLE SLIT APPARATUS
-
Description
Students can actually manipulate the diffraction
and interference pattern using this scale model
of the Young’s Double Slit experiment. The model
is 20,000 times larger than the wavelength (600
nm) of the HeNe laser diffraction as seen through
a variable slit separation. Actual measurements
of the angular displacements can be made and
compared to the Young’s equation. The black
plexiglass backplate measures 57 cm x 40 cm and
has a mounting bracket.
Operating instructions include suggestions for
student activities.
