Similar to WARD’S Survey of Environmental Science,
the included instructor’s manual includes water
and air pollution syllabi, 47 slides with two scripts,
20 transparencies, all necessary equipment and
chemicals, and a full complement of activities that
can be customized to your teaching needs. Water
labs include five different experiments that determine
the quality of dissolved oxygen, as well as various
experiments to discover the relationships between
bacteria and dissolved oxygen, sewage, and plant
nutrients; clarification and treatment of water;
treatment of organic waste; and more. Air pollution
labs include temperature inversion, creation of two air
pollutants, effects of air pollution on various materials,
and the treatment of air pollutants. All materials are
for demonstrations rather than lab activities.
